Captivate and Keep Your Audience Through Blog Marketing

Good, fresh content is still the best way to capture and captivate people searching online. Adding a blog component to your website offers you an easy way to upload this content. And, as long as it's up, your blog can attract visitors to your content and your site for as long as you'd like!

Blog content helps you cast your net and is a great way to attract new visitors!

Most blog components offer the ability to add keywords, or words that your market may be searching for. You can also add these keywords to your content and title, and guess what? You've just optimized your blog content for the web.

Once your content is posted, it can easily be shared and linked out via social platforms. Consider posting a link to your new blog articles on Facebook, LinkedIn, or other platforms relevant to your market. Many also use the content as a way to announce events or even as a landing page for Google or Facebook ads.

Many ask us how often they should be blogging and for best practice guidelines. While what is "ideal for Google" is dynamic, there are some best practices to follow:

1. Quality matters. Build content for the user, not the search engine. 80% of content should be helpful/educational, while the other 20% should promote your company or organization.

2. Quantity is also important. Frequent and consistent posting will appeal both to searchers and search engines. Begin by posting one blog on a particular day each month.

3. Choose your words wisely. Think about what your customers are searching for when you want them to find your site. Selecting the right keywords will help your blog rank high on search engines.

4. Keep it clean. Organization greatly improves user experience. Utilize numbered lists and bullet points as much as possible and make sure to keep consistent with text formatting (titles, sub-titles, etc.)

5. Utilize blog banners. Words are significant, but poor quality design can be a deal-breaker. Always use a relevant image for your blog banner. The size is generally 1200 x 628 pixels. (Canva is an excellent tool for designing these).

6. Use your voice. Every company and organization has a voice. This tone of voice is what makes a blog more appealing to read. Make sure you're writing in a conversational style that reinforces your brand's ideals.

7. Be creative. Brainstorm unique, relevant topics and different ways to write about them. Think about what your readers want to know.

8. Watch the word count. Online readers have short attention spans, so keep the length between 250-600 words.

There is always much to say. Express it in your own way to help your business or cause today!
